Facilitators
Peggie Merlin, M.A. , Ph.D. has been leading seminars and training other group leaders for more than twenty years. Her background, a blend of social science, business and show business makes her an unusually insightful and lively facilitator. She holds post-graduate degrees in anthropology and in educational psychology and has a diploma in counseling. She spent five years (as researcher, then associate producer) with the Merv Griffin organization on the TV game show “Jeopardy!”, and has headed several successful business enterprises.
In 1979, Peggie left a position as executive director of Vancouver’s Cold Mountain Institute, a pioneer in the field of humanistic psychology, to become a facilitator and, ultimately, director of training for Context Associated, an international seminar company headquartered in San Francisco. Since that time, she has worked personally with more than 15,000 participants in inter-active programs and mentored dozens of other facilitators. As a business consultant, working independently or in association with select colleagues, she has facilitated innumerable sessions of strategic planning, team building, values clarification and difficult personnel communications.

While at home with large audiences, she particularly enjoys working in smaller groups where issues of personal as well as professional meaning are more readily addressed. In 1982, she co-authored and led a retreat for childcare workers which became the first in a series of programs for professionals interested in confronting themes such as Sexuality, Money, Healing and Wellness, Self Expression and, more recently, Personal Mastery, Breakthrough Leadership, and The Coming of Age.

On a purely personal note, Peggie is an enthusiastic sailor, SCUBA diver and equestrienne. She learned to ride a motorcycle and has made five parachute jumps. A native of New York City, she has traveled extensively, living for years in both France and Mexico. Her favourite home is on a tiny, unspoiled island on the coast of British Columbia.
